It was a wonderful windy summer wedding for Abby and Garrett! The North Dakota wind really made a big appearance the morning of the their special day. But it really wasn’t a big deal and no need for any worry at all. In fact, we made it one of our best “accessories”. Abby’s gown had the most unique veil sleeves! When the wind picked up the tulle and lace and sent those sleeves flying, it created magical wedding and bridal portraits!
I had no doubt Abby would be a stunning bride. I had watched her grow from a pretty little girl sporting figure skating dresses into a strikingly beautiful young woman! Her hair pulled back with a few natural curls loosely framing her face, and the incredible fresh floral bouquet (Ken’s Flower Shop) the overall look was breath taking! The look on Garrett’s face when he saw his bride said it all!
At the Family Farm for Some Windy Wedding Pictures
The previous fall Abby, Garrett and I spent some time together at Abby’s grandparents farm for their engagement pictures. They were so pretty, that we really wanted to make that the place for their wedding pictures as well. And it couldn’t have been better. The wind was crazy that day, but the full grown trees and grain bins provided just enough of a break to make that wind our friend.
The small country church was packed to over flowing with friends and family there to witness their vows. The reception (lovingly decorated by friends and family) was was filled with congratulations, laughter, and dancing until the early morning hours. One of my favorite traditions at the Mosbrucker family weddings (Paige and Nathan), is “Singing for a Kiss”. Instead of clinking glasses, guests sang a song with the word “love” in it to get the bride and groom to kiss. So fun!
Abby and Garrett, I am so happy for you and am so thankful I had the honor of spending the day with you!
