This was absolutely the perfect start to the 2021 season, with a beautiful North Dakota May wedding! And, (so far) the prettiest Saturday of May! As a hometown wedding, I know personally how much these two mean to one another, their families and our community! It just makes me so happy to see friends so happy together. To be a witness at their marriage and so involved in their day was a blessing!

The day started with getting ready and grabbing a few creative photos of all the pretty details. Then some behind the scenes of Annette and her girls getting ready. The most gorgeous group of blondes in town, wouldn’t you say?! Annette’s three daughters are just as sweet, kind and beautiful as their mom!

First Look and Portraits

The first look was tender and intimate. I like to stay back and let the bride and groom have just about their only alone time together for the day. Then let the moments unfold as they may. This North Dakota May wedding was destined to be spectacular!

Then the firetruck rolled in along with the wedding party and the fun began! Cory and his family are volunteer fire fighters here in Hazen, and dedicate so much of their time and talents to the safety of our community. It only made sense to include the truck. Remember their engagement pics? Had to continue the theme for some of the wedding photos.

Bride and Groom

But I do just love the soft romantic pretty photos of a bride and groom. May is little early for the full greens of summer to be showing themselves, but I think the bare trees with the bright sunshine created wedding picture perfection! The tone on tone ivories and greys of the wedding colors combined with the soft neutrals of the background scenery is just gorgeous!

The ceremony was joyous and the celebration was pure fun! Friends and family toasted the bride and groom and the wedding party (and the kids) kicked off a night of dancing!
