I have to say, Preston’ senior pictures was one of the more memorable sessions of the senior season. I have taken Preston’s photos a few times over the years, as a little boy, with his family, sports and school events. He always comes with a bit of a shy smile and a great attitude. But apart from just being a great guy, part of of what made his senior photo shoot memorable for me was his mom. I would say that almost 99% of the seniors that come here to Hazen for their senior photos comes with their moms – and a lot of times with dad, brothers and sisters, too. No exception here – the whole family came along with Preston, including his cousin (whose senior pictures you saw earlier on the blog), grandma, brother, mom and dad. I think Preston and his mom have a special relationship and she wasn’t shy at all about showing how proud she is of him and how much she loves him. Senior year is such a milestone event and it’s not just the senior who lives it. Its the parents, too! I have learned that over the years – and am beginning to feel it myself as my own daughter gets nearer that time. So, without deliberately trying to embarrass you, Nikki (love ya too much for that), I will share a bit about HER senior picture experience. LOL. She cried when she booked the session, she cried when they shopped for some special outfits (purple seems to be the color of the year), and she cried a bit when she saw the proofs. All good tears, proud tears and maybe some tears of disbelief that time passed so quickly. Oh, we all talked and laughed throughout the photo shoot, too and I think we all had a good time. But is all just cemented in the fact that senior year is monumental! And this whole senior photos part of it all should be a special part of it for everybody, too. So, I have said it before and will say it again, senior pictures is definitely about the senior – but it also is an event for the whole family. Enjoy the experience, have fun planning your outfits and deciding on props and places to go – but make it an event to remember – and I will, too!
Oh, and yes the hockey puck is really on fire. It is carefully set up and planned in the studio, with a bucket of water and a fire extinguisher near by. A very fun shot! And yes, we did take a side trip to the hockey arena for some action shots.
