I know boys aren’t always thrilled about getting their senior photos done. Most of the time they say they are doing it for their moms. But once we get going, it’s not so bad. And once we’re done, I’ve actually had lots of the senior boys tell me they even had fun. Imagine that? LOL. Your senior portrait session doesn’t have to be torture. Its kind of a right of passage, a part of the whole senior year experience, and it should be kind of fun – even for the boys. So pack up a couple shirts, pairs of jeans, maybe a tie, some of sports or music stuff and an open mind.
Andy and Nathan both wanted just an easy fast session, with a couple outdoor locations and some classic studio shots. Great! Dillon and Lane wanted something a little different from the norm and brought along their guitars and drums and we had some fun. We were able to do get the classic senior portrait for the wall that mom wants and some creative, stylized photos that the boys wanted. Dillon really wanted to try something different so we used the little light thingy (sorry, don’t know the real name) he brought along and used some specialty manual camera techniques to create a little photographic senior picture magic. Never be afraid to talk with your senior photographer about your ideas! You never know what you may come up with together! It might not be the “big one” that will hang on the wall for years to come, but it will be one you will remember and bring back the memories of your senior year. And that’s what it’s all about.
