I love sharing glimpses of senior sessions on Facebook and here on the blog. One or two of my most favorite images from each session as a sneak peek, or just because I happen to love a particular photo for whatever reason. But I know some of you are wondering what a full session looks like. Well, here you go. This is the lovely Kayla’s full senior session – well almost…these are my most favorite from each set – there were even more for her to choose from! The great thing about this particular session is that we did almost all the photos at Kayla’s home! That makes them unique to her…her choice of locations and spots and her ideas. I really love that! Not only does it give her truly unique photos, but it stretches my imagination, creativity and even technical skill, keeping me fresh at my craft as well.
Senior pictures in wildflowers
Kayla’s mom planted a wildflower field that was Kayla’s first choice of locations to start of her senior pictures session. Then we moved over to a pretty and sunny spot amongst the tree multi colored tree rows right next to their home.
A few quick changes and we moved on to a cute spot with the weathered wood of an old out building on their property. The mustang has actually become a family tradition of sorts…both Kayla’s brothers took photos with this car as well!
Kayla’s idea to get the old windmill behind her made me think for a bit for the best way to do this. With the bright sky in the background and the windmill being so much taller, it took some creative and technical thinking to make it all work. I’m so glad she asked, though….these might be some of my favorites from her session. And then we moved onto our last spot at her home…the dirt road for some of those classic country looking photos. All in all, it really didn’t take us long to get all these different looks right at her home!
From Kayla’s place we took off and visited a couple of spots that I know always make for great photos! These are all within a short drive from the studio, so if you love the look just ask…and we’ll make sure to put it on our list of places to visit for your senior photos.
Then we headed back to the studio. These last two outdoor locations are right there! My old alley is perfection and a few right out in the middle of Main Street! I think folks around here are used to seeing me out there and just waive as they drive around us. Its fun and makes for great senior session memories…and photos!
With all our outdoor locations done, we went into the studio do some formal headshots as well as some just fun colorful casual sets. We also took a quick series of sports photos in jeans and jerseys that I combined together into a collage, that is always popular.
Well, there you have it! But wait….we decided I would make a quick trip back to their place come fall, when the pumpkins were ready to be harvested! One of the great things about being a local, is that we can do quick little things like this! Again….please just ask! There are so many places around that we will always find a way to make your senior pictures special, unique, “different”!
