I have had the extreme pleasure of photographing two sister’s weddings a few years ago. Sweet lovely girls with adoring husbands and wonderful families! What more can I say? Now, they are sharing the truly amazing journey of parenthood together. Their beautiful little daughters were born only a month apart and I can truly say that I couldn’t be more thrilled for these families! Those little cousins are going to grow up together and develop the most special of bonds. Some of my most treasured memories are those with my cousins!
I couldn’t have been more honored when these new mommies called to share their news and to book their newborn appointments. Not only do I feel like “their family photographer”, I feel a connection with them by sharing in some of their most important family events.
Newborn photography is a lot about patience. It may be the main ingredient to a successful photo session. Our studio has all the props, blankets, backgrounds, wraps, hats and headbands….and we have lots and lots of patience. Those little ones need to time to settle down, be hugged and cuddled, fed and changed. All that is part of the process! Feel confident when you are here that everything is about your baby and we will take all the time you need to get some truly beautiful photos of your little one and your family.
I do have a large variety of props, wraps, backgrounds, etc. all for just for newborn baby photo sessions. All pieces I know work perfectly for the newest little ones to create beautiful photos. But I also love and encourage parents to bring in items that are special to them….pieces that reflect their families, special gifts or handmade blankies that will become treasured as baby grows up. Those are what make your newborn photos unique and special. In this case our new parents brought along their saddle and wedding dress!
(Saddle photo is a composite of photos, where mommy’s hands have been expertly edited in photo-shop to not show. Safety for the baby is always then first priority)
You can schedule your newborn session anytime, but it is a good idea to plan a little in advance. We will pick a date approximately 6 days from your due date. We can then juggle it around depending on when your baby actually arrives.
When you book your session, you will receive a guide to help you plan for the best newborn photo session possible. I have lots of tried and true tips that really will make a difference!
