I think we got the absolute best day of winter for Autumn and Tanner’s winter engagement pictures in Bismarck. It was actually a little warm (at least not sub-zero), sunny and with just the right amount of breeze for pretty hair, which in ND terms means we weren’t being blown into the next county. LOL. But, really, it couldn’t have been any better for some winter engagement pictures!
We started in the atrium at the Bismarck Heritage Center for some classic pretty photos. It’s always full of light and we were lucky enough to not run into a ton of other people. Have you seen that place during prom season?! It really is the perfect place to start off a session and Autumn and Tanner were already pretty great in front of the camera so I knew we were going to have some awesome photos.
A quick outfit change and we headed outdoors for some shots in the snow and trees. They wrapped up in a giant blanket, sipped a cup of coffee (fake coffee in Tanner’s case) and walked down a winding sidewalk. Just as we were getting ready to wrap it up, I saw a little row of birch trees that I thought would make for some interesting shots, so I asked for just a little more time….and a walk through the snow. It was a little deeper than it looked, but the wet feet were worth the effort! Though, honestly, I can’t choose which set of their engagement pictures I like the best, and doesn’t Autumn have the most gorgeous hair?
After such a successful and fun day, I am already imagining what their September wedding day will be like! The countdown is starting!
