April and Andrew’s wedding took place on a beautiful summer day in Washburn, North Dakota. A day that was planned for and looked forward to for so many, particularly in the midst of all the Corona Virus craziness! It was wonderful to see people come together to celebrate love, hope and wish a young couple the best for the future!
Classic and Modern Gown and Tux!
April’s gown was so unique! A stunning ball gown combining a vintage vibe with a more modern lace pattern woven throughout. She had custom sleeves and straps added to really make it her own. Andrew was classically debonair in a traditional tux with tails! They made for such a striking couple! The peach and navy color scheme was romantic, contemporary and just lovely!
I am so glad that we built some extra time into their day (I always work with couples to create custom a timeline for their day). With the all the layers in April gown, the dark jackets the guys were wearing and the blazing sun of mid day, everybody was getting pretty hot. Some time to cool down before the ceremony was definitely needed!!
So Many Touching Moments
Several times during the day there were moments that particularly struck me. Their first look was adorable. Andrew’s hands were shaking as he could hardly wait to turn around and see his bride. April was so cute as she snuck up behind him, and prolonged the moment by hesitating to give that tell take tap on the shoulder – just look at her face in the photos! Then they couldn’t stop smiling, laughing and hugging each other!
I loved how the priest shared some of their thoughts during their wedding preparations and the choosing of their scriptures. April and Andrew are genuinely making their faith the center stone to their marriage.
The toasts during the reception were also so touching! Andrew’s brother and Aprils childhood best friend each spoke words that were fun and touching! I’ve heard many wedding toasts, but these two both brought tears to my eyes – and many others as well, as I looked around the room.
April and Andrew, as you head out to create your new life together, I wish you nothing but happiness, new adventures and opportunities to create more lasting memories!
