I received a call from Hailey one early fall day, asking if she and Dustin could come in and talk with me. But she didn’t say what they wanted to discuss. I wished for what that conversation would be about! I kept my fingers crossed. So, when they sat down across from me at the studio, with little sly smiles on their faces, I thought I had it right – and I did! They were engaged and were asking me to be a part of their preparations and their wedding day! I have known Dustin since he was a young teen, and he was called Crusty. He was one of the first members of the Power Plant Gym, a star player on the Hazen Bison Football team, and just a fun kid to be around. Many of the funny stories we tell from those days include Crusty! After graduation, he joined the Army and made his hometown proud as he served his country. I met his beautiful Hailey after he came home. She is kind and sweet, oh, and did I mention, beautiful (inside and out!). And then came their little doll, Kennedy, whom I had the pleasure of watching grow during her Milestone’s year! So “thrilled” for this little family could even be an understatement for how I felt when they announced their engagement!
I love how their ideas for their engagement pictures came to life. They chose their spots (Dustin knows this country side like no other) and brought along their old truck. Hailey styled their outfits perfectly – obviously! And the fall colors of North Dakota provided the gorgeous backdrop for their engagement photos! Next fall can’t come soon enough for the second part in my share of their love story!
