Alex and Ally’s beautiful backyard wedding in Bismarck was perfection, although not the original plan. Changing wedding plans is sadly not an unusual story for couples this summer and Ally and Alex had some hard choices to make. They were to have their big traditional wedding in Minnesota (their original home), with a large gathering of extended family and friends; however, due to Covid19, they shifted to an intimate backyard wedding with immediate family and their closest friends. As a result, everything became much more intimate and unique and ultimately magnificent!
Subsequently, they set up a beautiful ceremony space amongst the trees, with floral arches, and white chairs and aisle runner. Alex saw his bride for the first time as she came through the flowing curtains, escorted by her dad. It was a touching moment, upstaged only when their son announced that Alex could now kiss his bride! 50 people applauded and cheered and it sounded like 200! The bubbles during their exit were also a super fun touch!
Dinner, toasting, dancing and celebrating took place under a white tent and twinkle lights, surrounded by evergreen trees. Every part of the day was personal, intimate, and full of family and friends. Everybody knew everybody and they even made me feel a little more like a closely knit part of the group. Most importantly, the day was a celebration of enduring love! It has me kind of falling in love with these smaller intimate weddings. and this beautiful backyard wedding was certainly a show stopper!
To sum it all up, a wedding is a union, a commitment, and a celebration of love! Whether big or small, in a church or in a backyard, nothing can put a damper on that! Not even a pandemic virus!
