I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for months and it was everything I knew it would be! Our engagement session was during the winter, so it was wonderful (if a tad hot) to be in the sun for their wedding day! Laura and Mark are a lovely couple and all their personal touches on each and every aspect of the day made it that much more special. The festivities took place on Mark’s family farm, dinner and dancing in the barn, games on the lawn and a bonfire at the end of the evening. The ceremony was at the little country church just down the road; the church that, as a boy, Mark walked to with his family. Laura wore her sister’s wedding veil and the earrings she herself wore when competing on the Miss America stage. Her stunning bouquet held the jeweled picks that were in the flower arrangements sent to her as she prepared to leave for that iconic Miss America competition.
Perhaps my favorite moment of the day was when Laura’s sister gave her toast. I can’t remember her exact words, and I couldn’t state them as well as she, but the gist of it was that it made her so happy to see Mark look at Laura the way he did. It was what she dreamed for her sister on her wedding day! It really was a day of dreams come true…a beautiful young couple with their lives in front of them, surrounded by friends and family, celebrating what God has joined together! Truly a day of blessings for all!
