We are pretty much into the full swing of summer, AG and me. Summer when AimeeGrace was little consisted of swimming lessons and softball. We love to laugh at the memories of her at softball games. One particular game, another dad asked Warren (my husband and AG’s dad), which little girl was his. He proudly pointed at the cutest little girl prancing to first base and said, “The one wearing the golden slippers”. Yep, AimeeG insisted on wearing gold ballet slippers instead of cleats. Needless to say, athletics wasn’t a big part of her future.
Pre-Senior Summer
This summer she’s working again at Bee’s Cafe and helping me out at weddings. I know she probably likes Bee’s better, but I love having her along with me. She is a great holder of the the light, carrier of the stuff, and keeper of the time. She’s also the perfect test model. “Face that way, no the other way”, I instruct and she strikes a pose and cracks me up. But its just what I need to be perfectly ready when the bride and groom arrive. She just smiles and nods her head when I am muttering to myself, knowing that I think out loud. AimeeG, have I said thank you for being my side kick and assistant? Thank You, and how am I ever going to find a replacement for you?
