Nikki and Cole chose the perfect spot for their engagement pictures at the Dakota Sun Gardens Winery and Flower Gardens just outside of Carrington! Everywhere I looked there was another incredible scene! When we started our conversation, Nikki brought up this spot, sent me a few pictures, and I jumped on it right away! So glad I made the drive because these are some of the most gorgeous engagements pictures at a winery right here in Carrington, ND! A hidden treasure for sure!
A Hidden Oasis
I hit the road a little early, since I have only been to Carrington once before and I didn’t know exactly how long it might take. The winery is outside of town a bit and even further down some gravel roads. But once found, it’s like a magical oasis! Hidden amongst the trees, surrounded by farmers’ fields, there is this incredible spot filled with flowers beds, large metal sculptures, uniquely renovated grain bins….and wine!
Because I actually was an hour early, I was able to sit and chat with Merleen, (the lovely proprietor) do a mini-tasting, and buy a few bottles. Then I meandered around their gardens and got an idea of where I wanted to do Nikki and Cole’s photos.
Nikki and Cole arrived, we talked for a bit and then we jumped right into pictures. So glad they were naturals at it, because it was hot and the mosquitos really loved Cole! Poor guy but such a good sport! Also glad I had some bug spray in the car and hope it gave him a little relief! LOL
Simply Beautiful Photos!
We made a loop around the property, finding some gorgeous spots. I loved hearing about the proposal story! Cole knew just what Nikki would love and kept it low key and private just between the two of them. But it was still a surprise to her! She wore the cutest smile as he told me about it. And the ring is spectacular! 😍
At the end of the evening we ended up with some simply gorgeous engagement pictures at this Carrington winery! And as a special treat the two of them spent some time with a wine tasting of their own. Sipping refreshing fruit wines (away from the mosquitos) was a perfect ending to their evening, don’t you think!!
I can hardly wait for their winter wedding at a Minnesota lodge – the opposite of what we just did but I am sure it will be equally as beautiful! See you guys soon!!
