When Amanda and I started chatting about their engagement session, she was just the teensiest shy about asking doing something a little out of the box. But once we got to talking and brainstorming, excitement took over and we got to planning really unique and personal engagement pictures for Amanda and Waylon. It was awesome!!
Waylon’s dad has this fabulous old 1948 Plymouth that he generously volunteered for photos. From there the ideas started to flow. Amanda decided to go all in on the 50’s theme….
In Amanda’s Words…
” With a wild idea and a willing fiancee, I decided if we were going to do this we would REALLY do this. So I hit Pinterest to research the era. After a couple hours on amazon the outfits were put together!”
We met up in little downtown Hazen after Amanda had her hair done and got to work! The first set we we did on a really pretty residential street with an awesome tree canopy. The neighbors even came out to watch! 😄
Then we headed over to Union State Bank and channeled a bit of a Bonnie and Clyde vibe. Waylon’s dad also brought along an old violin case to mimic a gun case and Waylon and Amanda struck their model poses! It was so danged fun.
Finally, the last set with the car we found a spot to highlight the pre-storm clouds. My favorite (and Amanda’s) from this set is definitely the foot pop kiss!
A second but coordinated look!
We finished up the session with some more traditional style engagement pictures. I think it was such a great idea to stick with the black and red color theme. They could put together a great engagement album that is really cohesive looking! I think it would make a great guest book for the wedding, right?!
