Ava and Grant’s engagement session in Fargo is one that really stands out to me as unique and very much about who they are as a couple. They have a special story and I loved seeing a piece of it come to life in these pictures!
Dressing it Up!
Choosing formal dress for their session really is no surprise to me, and it made me really happy! I love it when a couple takes the opportunity to dress up when there are so few chances to do so. But for Ava and Grant, dressing up is really not all that uncommon! Ava holds a national pageant title as Miss International 2019! And as a United States Marine, Grant has one of the most prestigious of dress uniforms! Together, they are striking!
Downtown Fargo
It was a cold and windy day, but Rosey’s Bistro & Bar was so accommodating when we asked if we could set up some scenes there. It was before hours, so we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves! Then out we went into the cold for some shots in Robert’s Alley. It’s an iconic spot in Fargo, so we had to give it a go! Ava and Grant really went into all out model mode! You would never know that they were freezing. I, on the other hand, was wearing my heated jacket! LOL.
I did manage to sneak in some behind the scenes shots as they walked against the wind on our way back inside. Can I say again, how great they were?! Not a word of complaint! Don’t you just love how he is helping her hold the hem of her gown as they rushed down the street!?
We ventured a few blocks over with some beautiful shots beside a gorgeous church. It provided a little wind break that we were so thankful for! Lastly, we tried for just a few in casual attire by a golf course. Unfortunately, the wind was fierce in that spot, so we decided to call it wrap and go warm up! Grant’s poor ears needed a break!
The perfect finish for the day for me, was being invited to share in their Engagement celebration with friends and family back at Rosey’s. Honestly, a wonderful weekend!
And, as always, I am thankful to Grant and all of those who choose to serve our country!
