I took some time during Christmas break to just have some fun with some photos. Some were from previous shoots and some I had a specific idea in mind. For those I met with a great gal in the studio first and then went and played with PhotoShop.
PhotoShop is obviously an essential tool in photography but I try to use it judiciously. I truly believe that it is to enhance photos, not to fix problems that arise from not knowing how to use the camera correctly. The best photos begin with the camera. But then, it is certainly fun to take off from there and let the imagination and creativity take flight. I don’t get to do that as often as I would like. Business, kids and life keep my pretty busy. But, it’s also essential to me that I get some time to stretch my brain and have some creative fun. I was an art minor in college and spent many an hour in the painting studio but it’s been years (and I won’t say how many) since then and the camera and a computer have replaced the canvas and brush. But the “feeling” is still the same – all it takes is a little spur of inspiration – and these girls were just the ticket.
