In October I set a booth a the BisMan Bridal Show – my very first time ever doing something like this. I had a great time chatting with brides and their friends and family and and overall sense of a day well spent! A couple of weeks later, I Nicole and I met up for coffee and spent some more time really chatting about her plans and dreams for her wedding. Oh my gosh…we could have sat at that little coffee shop for another couple of hours! LOL Sometimes you just hit it off with people and talking is so easy. I was so happy when, after talking it over with her fiance, she sent me an email saying she and Blake were choosing me as their photographer! Yay! Since it was already late fall, we decided to wait a bit for their engagement session to try to get some snow, but our North Dakota weather wasn’t cooperating as the snow just didn’t want to visit us quite yet, even in December! So, we went ahead and had an “almost winter” engagement photo shoot and it turned out gorgeous! The day was actually quite warm and we were able to make our way around to quite few spots in Bismarck, including the Capital Building, Sleepy Hollow Theater and Arts Park, and some just having fun downtown.
The photos are great, but getting to know Blake and these two as a couple was the best part of the day! What a great match they are! Fun, chatty and real! Talking with them and watching them interact, I just knew this session would be easy and fun. They shared their story with me, talked about their puppy (no, he won’t be in the wedding) and their plans for their day. Blake is a chef, so you can just imagine what their food is going to be like! And can I just mention what great sense of style Nicole has?! I love her short hair cut – I have visions of her on her wedding day already, especially after I got a sneak peak at the dress.
So, because we originally really wanted a snowy winter session, I had some fun playing a bit with photoshop and gave them some fun winter-esque photo, too!
