When I got the news that Hailey’s Zach had proposed, I was over the moon! I met Hailey a couple of years ago when she joined us in Atlantic City to help cheer on my daughter as she competed at the Miss America Pageant. That is when I learned what a devoted and loving friend she is…and made me love her….I mean, who travels across the country for a girl she has only just become friends with? Well, Hailey, of course! This girl deserves only the best and she has found it in Zach!
Where Hailey is bubbly, energetic and talkative, Zach is calm and steadfast. They compliment so well, that it just makes me smile! They both come from Williston, knew of each other high school, but didn’t make their real connection until several years later, after Hailey had moved to Minot. I loved hearing their story as the evening progressed, from re-discovering each other, to falling in love, to the proposal – Hailey was glowing and Zach was beaming. I think the only thing that distracted Hailey from Zach for a moment or two was her ring! LOL. I had reminded her to have it cleaned before their engagement session so that is could really sparkle. But she hadn’t put it back on since she picked it up from the jewelers, so after I grabbed a few shots of it she was literally bursting to get it back on her finger! And Zach watched with such quiet love and pride as she did so. It was literally heart warming!
I was just so excited when the two of them decided to come to Hazen from Minot for their engagement pictures. We had an absolute gorgeous perfect evening for their engagement pictures! The day before was just sweltering, but our night had cooled down and we enjoyed several perfect hours of talking, laughing and photos. Zach was such a good sport, especially since this was his first time doing professional photos! And while Hailey has been in front of the camera a lot, its a little different as a couple. Together they just click (pun intended?) and sometimes I think they didn’t even know I was there! They just enjoy each others presence so much, that the rest of world seems to just fade away….which, actually made for some spectacular engagement pictures!
