Tatyann’s senior portrait session started off in the studio, where we first concentrated on getting some great head and shoulders pictures that could be used for the yearbook, scholarship application, newspaper articles, etc. Everybody needs a great head shot. Hint for future seniors: Make sure to bring along a shirt that has some sleeves for this – you don’t want little skinny straps or a halter top because when the final image is cropped in, you will look to bare. After we got those shots out the way, we could move on to the more fun stuff, and showing off her casual country style. Love the combo of boots and dresses!
After finishing at the studio, we headed out to their new family home in the country. Along the way we stopped off at an old abandoned farm house. The peeling paint, broken out windows and over grown grass was the perfect backdrop for that country style. And this place was a find of Taty’s own and a great way to be sure that she had some unique photos with a location that only she knew of. Another hint: when you’re out and about, keep your eyes open for possible locations for your senior pictures. I am always happy to try out a new spot!
Out of her family’s home is where the true Taty really shown through in her senior photos. The horses and the hunting gear are some of personal favorites. If you are thinking of including your pets in your senior photos, be sure to let me know so we can plan adequate time. We can talk through your ideas, and what I know works best. As the sun sank, we grabbed an old chair I drag around in my vehicle and set up in the sunflower field behind their house. And finally, we finished up with a nice family photo, including the cat! A family photo during your senior session is the perfect time – and I don’t charge any extra for it! So, if that is also an idea you want to include, be sure to give me a heads up and we can also discuss location, clothing options, etc.
